Fey Kills As Palin on ‘SNL’

Sep 15, 2008  •  Post A Comment

Tina Fey appeared on the season opener of “Saturday Night Live” as Sarah Palin, teaming up with Amy Poehler’s Hillary Clinton to deliver a “killer” opening sketch, the Washington Post says. Reports of Fey’s portrayal of the Republican vice-presidential nominee began earlier this week. A previously confirmed guest, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama cancelled his appearance in light of Hurricane Ike. The episode, hosted by Beijing Olympics superstar Michael Phelps with musical guest Lil’ Wayne, gave the show its highest ratings for a season premiere since 2001, TelevisionWeek reports.

  1. More truth will come out of Fey’s character of Palin than will ever come out of Palin.

  2. You might expect that sort of comment from someone who calls himself ‘Bright.’
Seriously though, Tina Fey was totally spot on, while Amy Poehler was nowhere near Hillary!

  3. Amy does a great Hillary — she simply doesn’t happen to LOOK as much like Hill as Fey resembles Palin.
Seriously…Palin looked so much like Fey to me when I first saw her it’s still scary. There was no way Lorne Michaels was going to let Fey pass that portrayal up.
Great job, both ladies. I’ve watched it on YouTube again twice already.
Now if they’d only get a better Obama LOL. SNL’s better when Barack comes on as himself because the guy they got SUCKS. There’s much better actors out there for that if Will Smith’s too busy LOL.

  4. Too bad that Barack Obama lost the chance to go face-to-face with “Sarah Palin”. That would have sent the people meter through the roof.
