Participants in the early switch to digital broadcasting in Wilmington, N.C. say last week’s transition “went very well,” TelevisionWeek reports. The FCC worked with local broadcasters through intense publicity to make sure consumers were aware of the early switch. After Monday’s switch, only 23 out of 797 calls received during the first day were from people unaware of the switch. Informing consumers remains the major obstacle between now and next February’s national analog shutdown.
