‘SNL’ Thriving During Election Season

Sep 26, 2008  •  Post A Comment

The presidential election is good news for NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” Daily Variety says. The show’s first two episodes this season have seen a 50% increase in ratings compared with last season’s first two installments. To capitalize on the election season, the show will air original episodes for the next four weeks and will produce three prime-time specials called “Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday” to air behind “The Office” beginning Oct. 9.
