ABC Studios is hoping to act as an incubator for musical talent by signing rising musicians and songwriters for overall deals for music used on the studio’s shows, TelevisionWeek says. One of the first artists signed was Shawn Klookoff, whose music has been featured in episodes of “Eli Stone” and “Kyle XY.” Through the deal the studio hopes to cut back on costs associated with music licensing fees and at the same time cultivate musical talent to serve the studio, the magazine says.
