American TV’s Foreign Invasion

Oct 23, 2008  •  Post A Comment

American TV has been hit by a recent wave of foreign shows, and there’s very little sign of that trend dying down, the Contra Costa Times observes. In a presidential election year when Americans question patriotism, many hit shows are foreign imports, such as “Dancing With the Stars” and “The Office,” while several new series also take their inspiration from abroad, such as “Kath & Kim” and “The Ex List.” Notably, American series “Mad Men” and “30 Rock” did take top honors at the Primetime Emmy Awards, the newspaper notes.
