Baseball Playoffs Can’t Beat Football

Major League Baseball post-season games are no match for regular season National Football League matches as far as local market ratings are concerned, the New York Times reports. Sunday night’s Game 4 of the Phillies-Brewers divisional playoff series scored a 12.7 rating in Milwaukee, while the NFL’s Packers-Falcons game reached a 28.7 rating. Football broadcasts have an edge over baseball due to the lower number of games for local teams each week and the fact that the recent division series baseball games appeared on TBS, a cable network, the newspaper says.
