In addition to debating sternly on national TV, Senators Barack Obama and John McCain have made time for lighter visits to “The Late Show With David Letterman” and “The Rachael Ray Show,” respectively, suggesting that the candidates are aiming to enhance their celebrity appeal on their way to higher political office.
