Do CNN’s Graphics Influence Opinions?

CNN has featured real-time reactions from undecided voters in graphs during the presidential debates. However, those graphics may be having an influence on viewer opinions, the Wall Street Journal reports. Recent studies of shown viewers can be swayed by others’ positive and negative reactions regarding material being watched in the same way a laugh track can help viewers enjoy a sitcom, the newspaper says.
