CBS News Up, Still Low, After Couric-Palin

CBS’ “Evening News” program saw some ratings increases last Wednesday and Thursday thanks to Katie Couric’s interviews with Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, but those increases were not enough to beat out the competition, the Hollywood Reporter says. Last Wednesday’s interview gave the show’s household ratings a 14% boost, followed by an 8% increase for Thursday’s interview, the trade says. During both nights, however, CBS came in third after ABC’s and NBC’s evening news shows.
