Medical drama “ER,” which had its final season order shortened to 19 episodes after being on the air for 14 years, may be extended to the standard 22 episodes because it’s beating newer shows such as “Life on Mars” and “Eleventh Hour” in its Thursday night time slot, the Hollywood Reporter says. NBC and show producer Warner Bros. are likely to make a decision about a possible extension at the end of the month, the newspaper reports.
