Tracy Morgan says his perpetual clowning evolved as a form of self-defense from a life filled with tragedies. If he couldn’t joke around “I’d be dead,” Morgan, a star of NBC’s “30 Rock” tells the New York Times. “My heart would be broken and I would die.” There are many similarities between the performer and his character on the show, named Tracy Jordan. Later this season, Jordan will learn he’s at risk of developing diabetes, a condition Morgan treats with insulin injections before meals, the paper says.
