Government Lawyers Requesting Appeal Extension

Lawyers for the federal government are requesting an extension to decide whether or not to seek a Supreme Court review of the indecency fine against CBS stations over the fleeting nudity during the Super Bowl halftime show several years ago, Broadcasting & Cable reports. The fine was thrown out by the Third Circuit Court of Appeals in July citing the Federal Communications Commission’s decision as arbitrary, capricious and an unjustified departure from prior precedent, B&C says.
