NBC plans on building a treehouse in New York City Friday to usher in the debut of its series “Crusoe,” Daily Variety reports. The giant treehouse will go up on the corner of Broadway and 51st Street and it will be a replica of the same one used in the series, an adaptation of Daniel Defoe’s “Robinson Crusoe” novel. The show’s stars Philip Winchester and Tongayi Chirisa are scheduled to make appearance there, the trade paper says.

  1. At a time of National Financial crisis..I consider this idea a monumental waste of money..Whoever came up with it should be fired,as a symbol to all..that the time of meaningless spending in search of ratings is over Why don’t you try real imagination, rather then the same old same old…people are losing their homes…and your building a “useless shack ” in Times Square..to sell a television show…Shame on you…

  2. Though the crisis is painful (and perhaps due to those over-exending themselves???), I do not see how a company’s promotion of a family oriented show is a waste. Finally someone working to engage my family with what appears to be enjoyable content. Good luck with your job search!

  3. Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.
