NBC’s proposed West Coast headquarters in Los Angeles’ Universal City is hitting a major obstacle in the form of City Councilman Tom LaBonge, the Los Angeles Daily News reports. The councilman asked Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa in a letter to scale back the plan or move it to the Universal Studios lot. It was announced earlier that NBC would leave its iconic Burbank studios for newer digs a few miles away, across the street from Universal Studios. The $800 million project calls for the construction of twin 24-story towers, a five-story studio complex and a 34-story high-rise, the Daily News says.
