Many local TV stations appear “optimistic” about the way the current national financial crisis will affect their business, but many still hold concerns about specific aspects affected by the struggling market, TelevisionWeek reports. Post-Newsweek Stations President and CEO Alan Frank says that while local stations may cut back on whatever they may need to, “we’re not going to cut back on how we cover news.” Gray Television President and COO Bob Prather tells TVWeek, “I’m cautious in the short term and very optimistic in the long term.”

  1. Thank god they are not going to cut back. “LOCAL 4” in detroit does a great job! Cutting back, an anchor or two might be good, since there are separate anchors for each newscast, literally. 11 PM is the only exception, wuth 6 pm news anchors.
But by no means… cut back on reporters and supplemental news staff.
