U.S. Shows Beat Imports in Pickups

Although this fall saw a big trend in TV adaptations of foreign programs, so far it has been U.S.-grown series that have found the most success this season, the Hollywood Reporter says. Among the 12 new scripted shows that debuted this fall on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox, five were based on international shows and one was entirely foreign-produced. But all of the four new series picked up for full season orders have been American-based shows: “Fringe,” “The Mentalist,” “90210” and “Knight Rider,” the trade paper says.
