Writers Say No to Ozzy

Writers Guild of America leaders have prohibited union members from working on Fox’s new Ozzy Osbourne variety series “The Osbournes: Loud and Dangerous,” citing producer Fremantle Media’s request to hire writers at “greatly reduced writing fees,” Deadline Hollywood Daily reports. A letter from the WGA accuses Fremantle of labeling parts of the show as “reality content” in order to justify lower compensation, the site notes. The WGA letter also reminds writers they also are not allowed to work on Tyler Perry’s projects due to current “unfair labor practice charges” being pursued.
