Oscar Broadcast to Include Movie Ads

Oct 9, 2008  •  Post A Comment

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will allow studios to advertise their films during next year’s Oscar broadcast for the first time since the ceremony began airing on TV, the Hollywood Reporter says. The Academy previously restricted movie studios from advertising due to integrity issues. Studios will not be allowed to advertise films currently playing in theaters, nominated films and any projects related to them, nor any film due for release before the last week in April, the trade paper says.
