Fox and NBC are forming a local news service that would shoot video of some events that would be shared by both networks’ stations and other local media outlets, TelevisionWeek reports. The object is to reduce costs and free staff to create signature stories and investigative reporting, the companies say. The service will start in January in Philadelphia. Future markets include Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Dallas and Washington, D.C.
