ESPN Kills Ads With Crude Stereotypes

ESPN cancelled plans for a college basketball ad campaign featuring actors depicting offensive characterizations of students at specific colleges, USA Today reports. An ad agency working for ESPN was casting spots and looking for a slutty girl to play a Tennessee student and an Asian who’s always fighting as its Notre Damer. “Our marketing department just learned of this casting call,” said an ESPN spokesman. “The language and approach reflected in that document were not approved by us and in no way represent ESPN or the respect we have for the college community.”
