Minneapolis’ KARE Offering Buyouts

Minneapolis’ KARE-TV issued a memo to staffers last week offering buyouts to employees over the age of 55, MinnPost reports. “If the voluntary offer does not result in a sufficient number of volunteers, or if business conditions worsen, it may be necessary to consider other expense reductions, including layoffs,” the memo read. To cut costs, the Gannett-owned station has already laid off employees and gotten rid of its live-truck operators, the paper says.
