NBC Takes ‘Positions’; FX Eyes ‘Staten Island’

“Meet the Parents” co-writer Jim Herzfeld is developing a comedy project “Changing Positions” for NBC, the Hollywood Reporter says. The project, from Universal Media Studios and Dutch Oven, follows a man and his family as they move in with his very sexually active parents. Herzfeld will serve as executive producer along with Doug Liman and David Bartis. Meanwhile, the Reporter says FX is developing a drama project “Staten Island” from “West Wing” writer and executive producer Lawrence O’Donnell. If picked up, the New York police project would serve as a “successor” to “The Shield,” which ends its run on FX later this month, the trade paper says.
