The Best Writing’s on U.S. TV, McKee Says

Nov 21, 2008  •  Post A Comment

Esteemed screenwriter Robert McKee says the best writing is on TV, not in the movies, Breitbart reports. “The best writers are creating TV series. It’s all in TV,” McKee said. A ticket for one of McKee’s lectures on screenwriting can go for about $1,250; they have been attended by the likes of Ed Burns, Diane Keaton and Meg Ryan. “We’re going through a wonderful period of television,” said McKee, who cited the series “Six Feet Under,” “Damages” and “In Treatment” as examples of this renaissance. “In U.S. television, the writers have all the power.”
