Kansas City, Mo., station KCWE-TV, a Hearst-Argyle-owned CW affiliate, will shut down its analog broadcast on Dec. 19, making the switch to digital two months ahead of the national deadline, TVNewsday reports. The early conversion “will provide local viewers with a real-life test to see if they’re digital-ready,” said Wayne Godsey, president and general manager of KCWE-KMBC. “If they can’t see us, they’ll know they have work to do before all TV stations complete the digital transition on Feb. 17.”
