NBC Makes Virtue of Failures

Dec 30, 2008  •  Post A Comment

Once the gold standard of broadcast, NBC is averaging less than 8 million prime-time viewers, battling Fox for last place, the Washington Post observes in the latest of its on the networks in advance of the Television Critics Association’s Press Tour. “NBC, once the best brand in broadcst TV, has beomce virtually irrelevant,” the Post says. And rather than developing must-see TV programs, “what NBC does best these days is turn its failures into The New Broadcast TV Paradigm.”

  1. That’s “fewer than … viewers” — not “less than” — don’t they teach grammar anymore? Less sugar, fewer sugar cubes. Less water, fewer water sources. I guess the incorrect supermarket signs for express lanes have ruined grammar forever.

  2. It’s nice to see someone caring about grammar. Now if only we can get someone at NBC to care about their programming!
