SAG Leaders Weigh Strike in Early 2009

Dec 10, 2008  •  Post A Comment

The leaders of the Screen Actors Guild are debating the merits of calling a strike during the January or February awards season, the Hollywood Reporter says. SAG also is considering when to send out ballots on a strike vote to its 120,000 members. Unite for Strength, a group of more moderate SAG members, may decide to hold its own meetings to convince members to vote against strike authorization.

  1. Could this be the reason SAG President Alan Rosenberg and his spouse of 19 years, Marg Helgenberger(“China Beach,” “CSI”), are splitting?
He wants to go on strike…and she doesn’t?

  2. Why now. We should have done it earlier in the year. Timing is everything. We should try to sit down and get the ball rolling in talks Mr. Rosenberg.
By the way please don’t have these rich actors send me voicemails and tell me what I should do. They are all invested and have enough money to live. Insulting.
