Allbritton Communications has fired 26 employees from the company’s WJLA-TV, an ABC affiliate in Washington, D.C., the Washington Post reports. The company said the cuts, which it called a “financial necessity in light of economic straits,” will affect some on-air personalities, the newspaper says. Among the reporters fired were Andrea McCarren, Sarah Lee and Alisa Parenti, with most of the changes going into effect immediately, the Post says.
