In the new season of “24” Jack Bauer, played by Kiefer Sutherland finds himself in congress being grilled over the aggressive tactics he’s used to take down terrorists, the New York Times says. The Fox series could use a breath of fresh air. “The novelty of the hour-by-hour conceit wore off long ago, and the various plot devices and characters are all familiar,” says the New York Times. “The fun, at least at the beginning of a new season, is in seeing how the creators will rejigger the pieces this time around.”
