California Considers Energy-Efficient TV Regulations

Jan 5, 2009  •  Post A Comment

California state regulators are considering outlining new laws requiring stores to only sell energy-efficient TVs as early as 2011, the Los Angeles Times reports. Any potential law is expected to be passed in mid-2009, as regulators cite potential savings equal to the power used by 86,400 homes once fully in effect, the newspaper says. The consumer electronics industry, however, says that regulations and limiting which TVs can be sold will drive costs up, the L.A.Times says.
