Couric Now Seen as Safe

“CBS Evening News” anchor Katie Couric isn’t planning on any changes to her newscast, as her interview with Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin helped change the focus on the program to its reporting instead of its third-place ratings, the Los Angeles Times reports. CBS officials haven’t raised the issue of her leaving the program early again after discussing the issue a year ago. CBS News President Sean McManus says he expects her to stay throughout the rest of her contract, the paper says.
