SAG Board Members Attack Negotiator

Jan 20, 2009  •  Post A Comment

The Screen Actors Guild board majority who are seeking to oust national executive director Doug Allen took their appeal directly to SAG’s membership, sending out an e-mail on Monday saying they no longer have confidence in Allen, the Los Angeles Times reports. Allen and a SAG spokeswoman would not comment. SAG President Alan Rosenberg said “one glaring reason” the union hasn’t made progress on its contract talks is “every time Doug does something, members of our board put out a press release cutting his legs out from underneath him.” Moderate directors are working on a way to oust Allen, possibly through a written vote, the LA Times says.
