Former Cable Lobbyist Pushed Obama’s DTV Stance

Tom Wheeler, a former cable lobbyist who’s now leading President-elect Barack Obama’s transition team that’s vetting different government agencies, was key in Obama’s decision to ask broadcasters to push back the digital television transition, Broadcasting & Cable reports. Wheeler, on leave from venture capital firm Core Capital Partners, is the former head of the National Cable Television Association, now called the National Cable & Telecommunications Association.
