Local Stations Seek New Revenue Sources

Jan 28, 2009  •  Post A Comment

Stations have begun to explore new business models in order to maximize the feeble ad sales predicted for the coming year, Broadcasting & Cable reports. For example, Tribune Broadcasting has combined operations of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel and local CW affiliate WSFL-TV in hopes of producing a morning news program with more focus on local events, the trade says. Ad sales executives also are being retrained to incorporate multiplatform ads into their deals, B&C says.
