Nets Pay $5 Mil for Obama Exclusives

HBO, Walt Disney Co., and MTV have paid about $5 million for exclusive rights to balls, concerts and other events surrounding Barack Obama’s inauguration, the Washington Post reports. The arrangement was criticized by some who think the events ought to be available to all. The licensing of inaugural events is more ambitious than those of President-elect Clinton’s in 1993.
