Lionsgate TV and “Mad Men” creator Matthew Weiner, after months of negotiations, reached a two-year, seven-figure overall deal that will keep him as executive producer and showrunner on the award-winning AMC series, the Hollywood Reporter says. The deal, signed Friday, covers development of new series for Lionsgate as well as a possible feature film not related to “Mad Men,” the paper says. AMC is said to be picking up some of the costs of the deal, a common practice in cable, the Reporter says.
