Byron Pitts, a CBS reporter, has been named as a “60 Minutes” contributing correspondent, allowing him to produce a minimum of six pieces a year, New York Daily News reports. Pitts, 48, said it was a goal of his since high school to secure a spot on the program. He’ll be the first African-American correspondent on the program since Ed Bradley died in 2006, the Daily News says.
