Midseason schedule changes mean that shows will face new competition, the Hollywood Reporter says. For example: ABC’s hit “Lost” faces Fox’s new crime drama “Lie to Me.” Even though more viewers are watching shows through time-shifting devices, how a program stacks up against its competition is still a way to measure a series’ viability.
