Vivendi Writing Down NBCU Stake

Jan 13, 2009  •  Post A Comment

Vivendi will likely write down the value of its 20% stake in NBC Universal by something less than $3 billion, the New York Post reports. In November, Vivendi’s stake was valued at between $6 billion and $8 billion, and it’s unclear whether a writedown would prompt NBCU parent General Electric to take a similar action. Vivendi didn’t say how much less than $3 billion the writedown might be, the Post says.
