WNBC-TV cut three experienced reporters, the latest round of changes following the station’s ratings decline, the New York Daily News reports. The station didn’t renew the contracts of political reporter Jay DeDapper, weekend and education reporter Kendra Farn and Westchester correspondent Carol Anne Riddell.

  1. As a long time viewer of WNBC-TV’s news for over thirty years, I find their cost-cutting decisions of late to be a disgrace. DeDapper is a highly knowledgeable reporter. Big mistake. Also, the station’s new digs are atrocious. They took a local news organization in the #1 market and placed them in what appears to be a claustrophobic closet. Even if space is necessary for Jimmy Fallon’s show, it still looks very bush league. What a shame. WNBC-TV is becoming faceless, like WABC-TV and the kings of local faceless news: WCBS-TV.
