Former TV reporter Amy Jacobson won a court round in her defamation lawsuit when a Cook County, Illinois judge allowed her suit against CBS Broadcasting Inc. to go forward, the Chicago Tribune reports. Jacobson is suing over the way CBS’s Chicago station reported and commented on an incident in July 2007, when she was taped in her bathing suit at the home of a man whose wife had mysteriously disappeared; Jacobson was fired from her NBC-5 station job after the incident, the newspaper says.
