The competition to snare interviews with the woman who gave birth to octuplets and her family has created its own controversy, with ABC paying for an interview with the woman’s mother, the Los Angeles Times reports. The network paid to license the footage from Radaronline.com, an amount ABC spokesman Jeffrey Schneider described as a “nominal fee,” while RadarOnline managing editor David Perel said “I’m not getting into that,” when asked whether the woman’s mother was compensated, the newspaper says. NBC, which scored an interview with the octuplet’s mother, denied paying for its exclusive interview, the newspaper says.
