TV Industry Eyes DVD Declines

The television industry is carefully monitoring the decline of DVD sales, as the ancillary revenue from the market plays into television program budgets, Broadcasting & Cable reports. With consumer spending declines hurting DVD sales even more, content providers are banking on digital and international sales to help offset the decline, the trade paper says. “We’re keeping a watchful eye on the DVD market obviously, and we are being overly cautious about how we project DVD revenues going forward,” Sony Pictures Television President Steve Mosko tells the publication.
