CMT will debut “The Singing Bee” on June 16 and has a 10-episode order for the singing competition, the Hollywood Reporter says. CMT lost in the initial bidding war for the program to NBC, CMT head of development Bob Kusbit tells the trade paper. When NBC passed on a second season of the program, “We jumped at it. To have had a launching pad like a network where it’s been out there in front of a lot of people, it’s great,” Kusbit tells the Reporter.
