WHYY, which operates Philadelphia’s top public TV station and radio station, cut 16 full-time employees and one part-time worker, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. The job cuts were throughout the company, although no on-air talent was included, the newspaper says. WHYY CEO William Marrazzo sent an email to employees announcing the cuts, which he said were due to “difficult economic times” and needed to balance its fiscal 2010 budget.
