Studies: TV Eases Loneliness

Television can help expel feelings of loneliness and rejection, according to four new studies from the University at Buffalo and Miami University of Ohio, the Hollywood Reporter says. A fictional bond with TV characters can help ease viewers’ needs to connect with other people, the researchers concluded, the trade paper says.
