The Writers Guild of America, East, plans to lobby Congress on May 8 with a panel discussion and meetings, Daily Variety reports. The guild has scheduled “Writers Speak! A Potentially Regrettable Evening With Comedy Writers” at the Newseum in Washington, D.C., where writers for shows such as “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart” and “The Late Show With David Letterman” will participate, the trade paper says.
