NBC Still Waiting for Silverman’s Hits

NBC is still waiting for ratings hits from co-chairman Ben Silverman, who the network tapped two years ago to bolster the network’s schedule, the New York Times says. Since joining NBC, Silverman has had to cope with the writers’ strike and the recession, yet his lack of hits has prompted speculation about his future, especially since the network hasn’t made a formal deal to renew his contract, the newspaper says. “If we weren’t supportive of Ben, he wouldn’t be here,” NBC Universal CEO Jeff Zucker tells the Times.
