Remote controls are ready for an overhaul as television viewers deal with video-on-demand and hundreds of linear channels, Multichannel News reports. New versions are being tested, with Panasonic creating a prototype with only six buttons that works with a cable set-top box, the trade paper says. “We need better devices to get through that large plethora of choices,” Gerard Kunkel, Comcast senior VP of user experience and product design, tells the publication.
