Morley Safer, 77, tells the New York Daily News that he plans to keep working on “60 Minutes,” where he went part-time a few seasons ago with the expectation of doing six pieces a year. Now, the newspaper says, Safer is creating eight to 10 pieces for the program. Later today he’ll receive the Fred Friendly award from Quinnipiac University, which has a lot of meaning for Safer since he was hired by Friendly in 1964, the publication adds.
