‘Cash for Clunkers’ Program a Bonanza for Local TV Ad Sales

Not only has the government’s “Cash for Clunkers” auto trade-in program been a raging success with consumers, it’s also boosted local TV advertising by auto dealers, Broadcasting & Cable reports.

Car advertising is the mainstay of many local stations, and some executives report that the trade-in program has been a windfall for them.
